JUST RELEASED: 2023 Accessory Report
Detailed analysis of the music accessory market

This 2023 report presents three years of data on U.S. retail and wholesale volumes for all key musical instrument and audio accessories that collectively accounted for over $1.2 billion in retail sales in 2022. The report tracks the sales of fretted and bowed instrument strings, straps, sticks, headphones, cables, stands, cases, and a variety of other small goods retailing for $100 or less. Historically, accessories have been the music industry’s most consistent sales performer, largely immune to economic factors. The data presented in this report tracks shipments by manufacturers and distributors to retailers, and direct to consumers as well.

The Accessory Market Report, which comes in a PDF and supporting Excel document, includes the following data for the categories listed below (2022 Retail Sales, 2022 Wholesale Sales, % Change; 2021 Retail Sales, 2021 Wholesale Sales, % Change; 2020 Retail Sales, 2020 Wholesale Sales, Top Selling Brands)
